Windows Debug Logging Guide
Follow these steps to enable debug logging for the Netsweeper Client Filter and collect logs:
- Open the Windows Control Panel and click on the Netsweeper Client Filter icon.
- In the Filter Settings, click the Filter Settings button.
- On the Settings tab, under Log Settings > Log Level, select Log Debug.
- Save the settings and close the client filter window(s).
- Open Services (run as Administrator), locate the NSFX service, and stop it.
- Navigate to C:\Users\adminuser\AppData\Local\Netsweeper Client Filter\ using Windows Explorer and delete all files in this folder.
- Restart the NSFX Service from the Services window.
- Reproduce the issue you are troubleshooting. The logs for this will be saved in the file: C:\Users\adminuser\AppData\Local\Netsweeper Client Filter\ncsf.log.
- After collecting the logs, return to Filter Settings and change the Log Level back to Log Disabled to conserve storage, as debug logging can consume significant space.
